Timon of Athens

Shakespeare’s Globe (London), 2008
Photo by John Tramper for Shakespeare’s Globe.
Human-vultures punching through black netting suspended from the wooden ‘O’ feast upon poor generous Timon, plucking him bare. Bereft and naked, in a cave in the woods, he learns what humanity is, and that he, out of everyone he has ever helped, is truly alone.
